Everything we do at CalPERS is focused on our mission to deliver the retirement and health security our members have earned. With over 1.9 million members counting on us, it takes a dedicated team to deliver on that promise.
Workforce planning is a key business strategy to recruit and retain the high caliber of talent we need to achieve our mission and to maintain our reputation as a destination employer. People are the key to our success.
The CalPERS 2018-22 Workforce Plan is the roadmap to help ensure our talent needs can support current and future business commitments and goals. It's a by-product of the CalPERS 2017-22 Strategic Plan (PDF), which is our guide to navigating the major risks and opportunities we face. And it's intended to support all CalPERS divisions and offices whose goals are focused on supporting our members.
At the heart of the plan is a proactive and ongoing process in which CalPERS leaders at every level support their team members, mitigate workforce risks, and track and align resources with business priorities in real time. As we continue to look to the future, we'll strive to ensure our employees have the competencies and resources they need to make the best decisions in support of our service to members.
